Deadlift and Squat “Fun”isher

I’ve got a little variety for you in today’s finisher. Variety is good in small doses. Sometimes I’m guilty of programming too much variety in my workouts though, which can lead to quite a bit of sweating, but not much in the way of results. Instead, sprinkling in these tough challenges strategically amongst a solid, progressive program can improve results.

For the last six weeks I’ve essentially been doing only swings, get ups and squats. This narrow focus has yielded some pretty impressive results, but now that I’m nearing the end of the program I’m ready to mix things up a bit, which is where a finisher like this can hit the spot. We are going to use the basic squat and hinge movements for this one, and use a couple of different varieties to keep things interesting. Do it with a ladder setup and you’ve got a pretty decent finisher.  Here’s how it goes:

For Time,
A) KB Sumo Deadlift x 4, 3, 2, 1
B) KB Sumo Deadlift High Pull x 8, 6, 4, 2
C) KB Goblet Squat x 12, 9, 6, 3
D) Squat Jumps x 16, 12, 8, 4

Check out the video for a demo. I apologize for the lighting (Note to self: No filming late afternoon when it’s sunny out):

Give this one a shot and let me know how you like it!
