Welcome to Iron 2 Iron Fitness!

First and foremost thanks for stopping by my new blog! You’re probably wondering a couple of things: “what the heck is this site?” and “where the hell is all of the content?” Both valid questions.

This is a site that is dedicated to all things fitness related, particularly to helping people build a foundation of strength that empowers positive physical change.  It’s a place where I can distill all of my fitness knowledge into actionable advice for those pursuing that physical change.

Why the name, Iron 2 Iron Fitness?

You may be familiar with the biblical proverb, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” Lifting weights and getting strong cultivates an inner strength in individuals, so the iron (weights) sharpens your iron will and mindset. In parallel, having someone (me, if you’ll listen) to help and push you will also sharpen your inner toughness and foster that physical change you seek.

On a less metaphorical level, part of my physical development got me into the sport of triathlon and endurance sports.  I completed a couple of Ironman triathlons and after a series of injuries took me out of the endurance world I discovered that I really enjoyed lifting heavy shit. So in a sense I personally went from focusing on one form of fitness (Ironman triathlon) to another (pumping iron).

Now for the second question of where the hell is all the content you’ll have to trust me that it’s on its way.  I’ve got a bunch of ideas and it’s just a matter of getting them captured in a post.  Sure I could have gotten a bunch of good articles written up and populated the site and gotten it looking all pretty before going live on the interwebs, but I didn’t want to get caught up in waiting for things to be perfect.  Life isn’t perfect, and this website never will be either.  The only thing I can assure you is that it will be evolving and I will be striving to make it better each day, which is exactly how life should be lived as well.

Alright, enough metaphors for one post.  Welcome to Iron 2 Iron Fitness.  If you have any questions or specific topics you’d like to see covered, post them in the comments below!
